I started the Brooklyn Bad Stars Baseball Club in April 2023, beginning with the launch of the social media alongside local advertising which included canvassing north Brooklyn with flyers for Open Tryouts.
We have anchored the New York City Sandlot scene for four consecutive seasons now, having held events for the public, open pickup games, fundraising events and a schedule of games during the summer season.
The #sandlotrevolution has been going for a couple decades in Texas. Bringing it to Brooklyn seemed well timed when I didn’t see anything quite like it. I believe in baseball and it’s ability to create a strong sense of community in the immediate world around us.
